Our Members

The members of the MountainEars enjoy a wide spectrum of collecting and experiences. We have members that love to go to the movies, the Parks, collecting Disneyanya or just the experience of Disney magic. Our member's interests include Mickey & Minnie, Pluto, Donald, Goofy, Sorcerer Mickey, Lion King, Mulan, Dumbo, Alice in Wonderland and of course Tinkerbell. Some members specialize in just certain characters or Park experiences like Two-Gun Mickey, The Sorcerer Apprentice, Scrooge McDuck, Haunted Mansion, Toy Story. And others enjoy collecting items such as, WDCC, Vintage Disneyana, Snow globes, and Christmas collectibles.

Our Meetings

Meetings are held once a month, at the home of one of our member families. Most meetings have an informal hour to catching up with our fellow members, old & new business, show & tell, trivia games silent auctions, door prizes, and snacks & beverages.

During the business portion of our meeting we go over the minutes from the last meeting, cover old and new business, talk about new Disney merchandise, rumors we might have heard, reviews from the latest movie, park changes and anything else we think others would be interested in

After we're done with business it's time for a Trivia Contest: Movies, Parks, Cartoons. Each trivia contest is designed by the host and can be simple questions, name that tune, BINGO, word search, guess the picture, just about anything you can think of. You never know what the theme will be, but you'll be sure to find lots of laughs and a couple of good prizes. And you might learn something too! As the meeting winds down it will be time to find out who will be leaving with the door prize. After a short break for any last minute auction bids, we gather back together for the results (and to find out how much we owe!).

Proceeds from our auctions go to support donations to a variety of children's charities. Items in the open bid section can include pins, printed material, beanies, house wares and usually a Tinker bell item or two. There are also a few higher quality pieces which are considered "one-bid" items. Past "one-bid" items include various Press Kits, John Hench Space Mountain Lithograph, and a WDW Monorail.
